from dream to realization

The Origin

As business partners, we started with a drive. The hunger to help people and organizations step out of their (daily) routine for a moment and dare to dream again. In a world where much thinking and working takes place within fixed frameworks, and we live in a state of continuous movement, we wanted to create an experience that invites people to let their imagination run wild, unleash creativity, and dare to think and create outside the box.

We did not yet know how we wanted to express this; besides an inspiring space and the facilitation techniques we can apply, we also wanted a unique combination in which we could let our creativity speak even louder.

And this idea started around Christmas. We received a VR headset as a gift. We thought: " We probably won't use this anyway ." Gaming more often with a VR headset didn't appeal to us. All those stimuli, a device like that on your head—it felt more unsettling than attractive. Because it was also an expensive gift, we even wondered if the giver might have preferred to have it back.

But out of curiosity, we decided to put them on anyway. We started a 4K video. At that moment, everything changed. Instead of feeling the glasses, they seemed to disappear. The world around us faded away, and we were completely transported into another reality. It didn't feel like looking at a screen, but like being inside it .

My business partner had been creating 3D works for quite some time. Quite spontaneously, I asked the question: " Couldn't we place those worlds in here?" That simple idea turned out to be the beginning of something much bigger. Our own creations actually came to life within VR. A new (dream) world opened up for us.

We began combining our visual creations with music, stories, and atmosphere. Each world acquired its own vibe, its own feeling and experience.

What started as curiosity grew.

And with that, Dream Fiction was born.
